WOOLWORTHS UPGRADES THEIR MENSWEAR

I was unable to attend last weeks fashion show and soiree hosted by Jeannie D, but I have managed to make up for it by catching the images online. What you might not know is Woolworths is giving their Re: Jeans brand a re: vamp. Over the past few years I have come to know many people who are passionate about locally produced clothing, supporting them and getting them internationally recognized. And we have those few designers who are well on their way, but for large retailers it is imperative that we see clothing in-store that the average man not only can afford, but that he finds fashionable. And just in time for Summer.
With Country Road and Trenery doing so superbly well in this country it makes perfect sense that Woolworths, who already produce quality merchandise on all levels, should release these affordable and fashionable pieces we need. In general Woman are sorted, we already know this, but men have not had these basics made available to them by local retailers, the fit has always been wrong or the fabrication poor. Now Woolworths with their already successful Studio W collection is focusing on three important factors in menswear: fit, fabric and cut.

Studio.W has been a remarkable success since its launch three years ago,” says Woolworths Group Director of Marketing, Charmaine Huet. “Our goal is to continue building on that success and establishing Studio.W as the brand for simple, modern styles that are easy to put together and offer the excellent value our customers expect to find at Woolworths.”

I have been going on about this for as long as the blog has been around and am delighted to hear that these important factors are not only considered, but executed into their ranges. I was involved in a fantastic project not too long ago with Studio W and will be unveiling it soon.
