National Geographic Photo Contest 2011

National Geographic is currently holding its annual photo contest, with the deadline for submissions coming up on November 30. For the past nine weeks, the society has been gathering and presenting galleries of submissions, encouraging readers to vote for them as well.

Gathered below are 45 images from the three categories of People, Places, and Nature, with captions written by the individual photographers.

All the pretty things

So as you can tell I've got the blues... yep, I'm all over everything blue right now, and I couldn't resist posting this MK pic when I saw the stunning blue hue on her.

It's Official

Recently People magazine has come out with their list of the best dressed stars this year; while some of the honourees I can understand ( I love my Ms.Theron!) others I am a little confused by, ie: Michelle Obama! Not to knock her attempt at style, but it just seems too safe. In a prestigious list filled with style innovators and style makers, she quite literally stands out, but not in a good way! I mean you remember the saying, "One of these things is not like the other, one of these things just doesn't belong..." well this song couldn't have been more made for the occasion. However People mag redeems itself with their other picks including SJP, Carrie Bradshaw herself (she really can do no wrong) and Kate Hudson to name a few. So what does everyone think? Do you feel like the masterminds at People left anyone out? Who would you have included in the list? or better yet what would your list look like? Who should get an honourable mention?
